I do not recommend this tactic for everyone. However…we should all come to a point in our fitbattle where we can take off the training wheels and maintain a healthy diet without feeling like it’s a lot of work. Logging food is work.

I’m still doing “naked weight”. It was a great weigh in day! My new all time low is now…wait for it…drum roll… 132.4 YIPPIE!!!!


I broke things off with the treadmill and we are on a “break”. I’m now fully committed to embracing my relationship with the stairmaster. I’ll be looking for a plan B for the days I just can’t take another minute on the stairmaster or I’m feeling bored.


I learned that she craves Taco Bell, primarily their tacos. So I suggested that she make her own healthy tacos using extra lean ground pork, low sodium taco mix, low-fat sour cream, low-fat cheese, and low-carb low-fat soft tacos. Oh yeah and top it off with salsa – as much salsa as she wants since it’s fat-free.


You’d think I’d asked the person how much they weigh or what age they were when they lost their virginity. Oh my! It’s clear if you are carrying around some extra pounds that you are eating carbs. This is not a dirty little secret it’s how we eat.


It felt good to run again. It actually gave me a new appreciation for the treadmill. You know…distance makes the heart grow stronger.


FiveFingers are newer shoes that people are wearing primarily for fitness type activities. But these shoes claim to serve many purposes and are good for a lot of activities on land and sea.


For some reason instead of focusing on my lunges I was recalling hearing about the tennis match on the radio. The match took eleven hours and five minutes (three days) to complete. Now that’s endurance!


Of course this got me thinking…how many other things in our own lives dull over time and we don’t notice? Two examples that come to mind are…my blonde hair and my cardio routine.


I felt like I had a point to prove. I was the oldest person in Boot Camp and there was no way I was going to come in last all three times for the sprints. I may have been the oldest but I was definitely in better shape than some of the other participants. Plus I’m just a little competitive.
