It’s really cool to transition from assisted dips to body-weight dips. Honestly I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to blog (brag) about it.

Everyday it’s kind of like Russian roulette…which soap dispenser should I choose? Will it work? Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.

Unless you’ve got some compelling information regarding a specific trainer that convinces you they are the one I recommend checking out at least three. By checking out I mean identify three trainers you are interested in and meet with each of them face-to-face. Kind of like an interview…well actually…just like an interview.

This is both an emotional and financial commitment that you should not take lightly. If you are emotionally committed there’s no doubt you’ll find a way to make it work. So start slashing…number of cable channels, shoe shopping, eating in vs. eating out, iTunes, Starbucks, cigarettes??? What are you willing to give up to invest in your fitness journey?

I was in the mind-over-matter zone too…it was awesome. I blasted the music, stared off into nothingness and paid as little attention as possible to the time ticking away on the treadmill.

I was sure that I survived Easter Dinner relatively unscathed and then there they were – a box of chocolates! $%^& – who brought a box of chocolates and then slyly left them on the counter almost unnoticeable until I started cleaning up?

I know what you are thinking…”oh it couldn’t have been that hard of a workout”. Well I dare you to try it and then let me know what you think. If I don’t hear from you I’ll conclude that you were chicken or you tried it and I was right!

On Tuesday night…I had to face my fear again. It was the Push of the Push/Pull Split (yes upper body) so good question…why jumping? My trainer had me do a circuit workout, which meant in between each Push exercise I did 20 bench jumps. A grand total of 200 jump ups – and yes I still feared them all the way to the bitter end…but I did make some progress facing my fear.

I now find myself needing the Versa Gripps on Wednesday and Friday nights (for the lower body and Pull workouts). I recently upgraded to the Versa Gripps Pro – WOWZA!

I’ve found that I’ve experienced a lot less disappointment by not having nailed down goals of where I want to be and by when. I’ve been much more open to opportunities that have been presented to me.
