daily fitbattle #1030 (re-entry to reality from vacation)


I’ve been in battle for 1030 days.  Here are my daily stats:

  • morning naked weight: I’ve decided to wait until Friday to weigh in again. I want to get back into my groove full-time before I step on the scale
  • workout: SATURDAY…no workout due to traveling all day. SUNDAY…made it to the gym in the afternoon for a 12 minute warmup on the treadmill and 45 minutes on the stairmaster at level 6. I also did 3 sets on the two hip abduction machines. MONDAY…only made it to the gym once today for stretching, 25 minutes on the stairmaster at level 5 and spin class.
  • food consumption (yesterday): 5 meals consisting of … calories = 1642, protein =142, carbs = 178, fat = 38 (ugh)
  • successes: made it to the gym on Sunday and Monday
  • opportunities: need to get back on track with my nutrition…calories, carbs and fat all too high

Re-entry to reality from vacation…is to say the least a challenge and not fun. I did keep track of all my food (on paper) while I was in Mexico, but I don’t think I’m going to take the time to put it into the Bodybugg program. It helped to keep track of it while I was on vacation but I think my focus should now be on today and tomorrow, not looking back at my vacation. I will be best served focusing on getting back on track.

I’ve been home for 48 hours. Sunday was a bust nutrition wise, but I nailed it today. I don’t really understand why I struggled yesterday, but I did. Last week was not a disaster, but I did have too many desserts and cocktails and too few vegetables (they were not in abundance) but otherwise…I was on vacation after all, so I allowed myself to enjoy it.

My goal tomorrow is to get to the gym two times, unlike today. Once I accomplish a twofer tomorrow I should be back on track. It’s just like before I left for vacation…one day at a time and if I stumble I just have to dust myself off and start again. I think what’s slowing me down is a lack of momentum. Before I left for vacation I had a lot of fitbattle momentum and it feels like I’m starting over. I realize that I’m not starting over, but it’s not feeling as natural and easy like it did before I left for my vacation.

So it’ll just be one day at a time, the only day that matters is tomorrow. I’m going to get a good night’s sleep and face the fitbattle head on tomorrow. Until then…Kathi
